Profile:

Dr Ourania Perdiki is Teaching Associate at the Theological School of the Church of Cyprus, where she teaches the course “Christian Archaeology and Art” in the undergraduate Theology programme. She has also taught at Ca’ Foscari University, the École Pratique des Hautes Études, and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. She has participated in a number of research projects and has secured competitive research fellowships and grants, including the EXCELLENCE HUBS programme (2025–2027), the DIDAKTOR Postdoctoral Fellowship (2018–2022) funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation of Cyprus, and the Dumbarton Oaks One-Month Research Award in Byzantine Studies, Washington, D.C. (2019).

Studies:

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Crete (BA in History and Archaeology, with a specialization in Archaeology and History of Art, 2008), followed by postgraduate studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (MPhil in Byzantine Archaeology and Art, 2009) and a PhD in Byzantine Archaeology and Art at Aix-Marseille University (2016).

Research Interests

Her research interests focus on interdisciplinary approaches to Byzantine art, Byzantine and medieval Cyprus, the cult of local saints, pilgrimage, and pilgrimage art.
