The Student’s Hall

The Student’s Hall οf The Theological School Of The Church Of Cyprus

The Student’s Hall of the School was created in 2016 with the sole purpose of meeting the accommodation needs of the students of T.S.C.C.. The Hall provides a modern, comfortable and safe environment for a pleasant and productive stay. It enjoys a very favourable location as it is situated in the historic centre of the old city of Nicosia, at the junction of Trikoupi & Patriarchou Gregoriou Street, only a stone’s throw away – just a five minute walk- from the main entrance and the building complex of the Theological School, the Library and other important museums within the city walls. At the same time, it is a short distance from the popular shopping areas Ledra St and Onassagorou St, where recreational areas are also found alongside Nicosia’s many historic churches.

Rooms / Studios

The Student’s Hall consists of 14 state-of-the-art single room studios and 9 fully-furnished and fully-equipped double studios, with two additional functional communal areas. A total of 32 beds are available. The rooms/studios of the Hall form an ideal environment for providing comfortable living-space and appropriate study conditions, addressing both the private and social needs of students, and offering them all the necessary comforts for an ideal student “in-hall” experience.

Among other features, the rooms include a kitchenette, refrigerator, desk, private sanitary facilities, veranda (for 12 rooms), air conditioning, smoke detector, motion detector for energy saving, as well as WI-FI & Ethernet, and provision for TV. There is also a communal kitchen area, a roof garden, and a cleaning service.

The residence package

The school accommodation package includes all basic services: Internet, electricity, water, air-conditioning, communal services and fault repairs.

All the above are included in the rent (by paying a fixed monthly rental fee), for only 9 months, the duration of the Study Program. In this way, students are not required to sign a contract for the months during which they do not attend classes, and thus they reduce their annual expenses. Additionally, students avoid complications related to connections / disconnections, payments and damages for these services.

Safety is a high priority of the School. For this reason, access to the Hall is done using key-card security, which is provided only for the Hall tenants. For the security of the Hall, all common areas are monitored by a closed-circuit TV. The entrance to the building, the corridors, the entrances to the student rooms and the verandas are monitored. The entire building and all rooms have smoke detectors and are covered by a fire protection plan. Fire extinguishers are also available.

As far as the energy-efficiency of the Student’s Hall is concerned, all rooms have double glazing, parquet floors, and walls constructed – for the most part – with special insulating materials. All windows and doors are equipped with special sensors to interrupt the air conditioning system when they are opened. Such sensors control the power supply for lighting when the lights are left on and there is no movement in the area.

In addition, the Student’s Hall features: Wi-Fi in all areas, a large common kitchen with dining area and large refrigerator, as well as a large communal veranda for recreation or for residents’ events.

The rooms/studios of the Hall provide for a modern and dignified stay, in an enriching study environment. They are offered at prices which are comparatively much cheaper than similar student Halls.

The rent for undergraduate students of the T.S.C.C. is offered at a 25% discount from the standard room/studio rate. The special rate is granted as a subsidy for tenants, (undergraduate students of T.S.C.C.), normally for the period from 1 September to 31 May, which is the duration of the Study Programs and of the Rent Contracts.

From June to August, the rooms/studios of the Student’s Hall can be rented for short periods, at their normal price (without subsidy) or used for conferences, at a cost determined by the School.

Applications for rooms can be submitted by all students admitted to the Theology Program of T.S.C.C.
